Matt and his wife Emily pulled up their nearly two decades long Chicago roots in November 2020 and transplanted their 1/8 acre urban farm onto 12 beautiful acres in the foothills of San Jose where they now run a farm animal rescue organization

​

Rancho Roben Rescues

a 501c3 non-profit project

​

As part of his work for the farm animal rescue organization, Matt recently spoke to the Rotary Club of San Jose Silicon Valley and the Mid-Peninsula Widows & Widowers Association about his life and the mission of their farm.

​​

In December 2024 Matt was appointed to serve on the Board of the North Santa Clara Resource Conservation District

​dedicated to the conservation of natural resources in Santa Clara County.

​

Matt published an article about the birth of their baby pig, Momo,
